Another one bites the dust.

Another pink room down. We decided to take a detour from the bathroom project to work on an "easy" room. Well we encountered a few minor problems. This is the before picture.Remember the lovely lacy window curtains, the retractable beside lamps, and the striped and flowered pink wallpaper. Well the wallpaper came off pretty easily but it revealed paneling on the wall with the lights. Blake pulled off the paneling and found that the plaster was damaged behind it. He covered the wall with new drywall and replaced the trim around the window.

The next problem was when we went to find lights to replace the good old retractables. We had to put lights hanging from the ceiling in otherwise there would be holes in the ceiling and the acoustic tiles. We didn't want to have to find new tiles to match. The only problem was that they apparently don't make lights with on/off switches on the lights. So we decided to make some of our own.
We didn't actually have a bed either. Blake made a bed frame out of wood to set the bed on. Then we decided to make a headboard ourselves. It is padded with buttons. Oh and the lacy curtains are gone!

So we still have to find lights for the sconces on the other side of the room. Again they need on/off switches on the lights themselves. We also need to finish painting the trim and closet doors. I think we can handle that.
